Special Engineering Projects
Our reputation and success in Special Engineering Projects comes from our love for a challenge.
In the industry we’re known as the team to turn to when you’re struggling to find a solution and we thrive on finding a better way to overcome your problems.
Our ethos, as the experts in challenging Marine Environments, is to provide innovative engineering solutions – whether you’re working in, under or over water. We apply our expertise and innovation in Marine Engineering to other industries and vice versa, bringing learning, a new way of thinking and new applications for existing technologies.
Our in-house design team work with you to understand the work to be undertaken, the environment in which you’re operating and the intricacies of the challenge. Armed with this information we can design new and improved long-term solutions to deliver value long term.
From the first walk to work project from a monohull vessel, through a totally different way to remove and replace Offshore Turbine exhausts, to the first heave compensated lifeboat installation the proof is in the projects we’ve completed. All of these diverse projects had one thing in common, they broke the paradigm of how ‘things were done’ saving considerable time and money in the process.
Our focus is on the maintenance of ageing assets and infrastructure from marine engineering to civil projects, utilising new and existing technologies to find a better, more cost-effective way to complete your project.
The First Heave Compensated Life-Boat Installation
Historically, lifeboat change out operations have required redundant lifeboats to be lowered into, and replacement lifeboats to be lifted from, the sea. Such operations are weather dependent and involve personnel entering the lifeboats whilst afloat, to assist with lifting arrangements. TSG Marine offered an innovative alternative; transferring the lifeboats directly to and from a platform supply vessel (PSV).
To deliver the work scope, TSG Marine supplied an integrated design, fabrication, mobilisation, demobilisation and overall project management support package.

TSG Marine were approached by a client to assist with the replacement of two damaged turbine exhausts on-board an offshore platform in the North Sea. We provided the integrated analysis, design, technical support and project management services required to deliver and install two bespoke replacement exhausts, on time and under budget.Read more
