Who we are
We have been at the forefront of innovative practices to access and operate in the marine environment for over a decade. We have built our reputation on working alongside our customers to understand their needs and helping them to find a better way of doing things. To us that means doing things safer, quicker and more cost-effectively.
TSG Marine was founded by Allan Syme. The early days of TSG Marine saw Allan provide consultancy services on Dynamic Positioning (DP) and Walk to Work.
From those initial projects, we have expanded our team and our services to accommodate the vast array of projects that we are now brought on board to support. At the core of all our services is independent advice to help our customers do things more effectively. With every service we provide being focused on ensuring that our customers achieve maximum return on their investment.
This year we have launched our Marine Access Service. Combining our ability to get people and equipment offshore to complete the work to be done on the asset. We have been delighted to support the first Walk to Work in Norway and have also launched our Marine Access Connect product to make the connection between the gangway and the asset safer and easier.
In 2018 our developments focused on ensuring that our customers had the information they needed to select the right gangway and the right vessel. We launched our Decision-Making Tool, software developed to allow customers to make commercial equipment selection decisions based on the analysis of complex technical information.
The simple realisation that we were able to better serve our customers by focusing on the job to be done on the asset was a game changer. We had the engineering skills and the problem solving capability; so we got to work carrying out exhaust replacements and repairing pipe decks with SPS.
In 2016 we tested our vessel mobilisation processes by successfully integrating WROV capabilities into a vessel. We also started to develop our complementary maintenance services, securing a licence to install SPS composite repairs. This started our journey to support our customers with the job that needs to be done on their asset.
More firsts in 2015; carrying out the first Walk to Work West of Shetland and the first ship to ship transfer of personnel using a motion compensated gangway. Our commitment to doing things more effectively and continually improving for the benefit of our customers was also recognised though the accreditation of our Quality Management System.
Using our specialist knowledge of marine operations and motion compensation systems we started to develop new ways of using equipment to meet the challenges of our customers. In 2014 we carried out the first heave compensated lifeboat installation in the North Sea.
Having demonstrated that the offshore management of Walk to Work projects was vital to their success, we continued to build our team to include Offshore Coordinators. This allowed us to offer fully integrated onshore and offshore service delivering efficiency savings and productivity gains for our customers.
In 2012 we altered our business model to meet a growing customer demand for rapid vessel mobilisation services. That year we installed the first motion compensated gangway at height. We also introduced our hire fleet of fully class approved mobilisaiton grillages, offered to save customers time and money.
Our company was founded to provide independent consultancy services. From those initial projects we have been focused on ensuring that the marine aspects, including Dynamic Positioning (DP), of Walk to Work projects are considered.
